I especially have a heart for non-profits, churches, ministries, and self-publishing authors. I try to keep rates low to work with new, emerging authors with limited resources. I usually look at a sample of your work before setting a rate for the project. The rates below are a range and standard guide for each type of service but can fluctuate based on the individual project and how much work is needed:

Content / Developmental Editing (big picture, scope, tone, voice, consistency, flow – includes a marked copy of the manuscript with edits and notes/comments to author for author’s review): $0.024 – $0.026 per word
Copyediting (grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, POV/tense, etc. – includes a marked copy of the manuscript with edits for author’s review): $0.018 – $0.020 per word (A manuscript with heavy Scripture usage and/or source material will be on the higher end, while basic copyediting will be on the lower end)
Proofreading (final read of a manuscript after Copyediting is complete and book is formatted): $0.01-$0.012 per word (or $10-$12 per 1,000 words). The cost mostly depends on what level of professional editing has already been done on the manuscript.
Editorial Assessment (This is a high-level critique of your draft to help you identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement. This assessment does not include in-line edits, but I will provide comments within your manuscript and an editorial letter with feedback to help you develop your manuscript.): $0.008 per word (or $8 per 1,000 words)
Content Writing: I love to write original content for blogs, magazines, devotionals, and other publications. My suggested rate for writing original content is $0.08 – $0.12 per word, depending on the topic and your timeline.

I offer substantial discounts for combining multiple services. Final pricing is determined after seeing a sample of your work.
