Gabriel’s Song

Gabriel’s Song is available on Amazon now!

Gabriel Andrews was not looking forward to his fourteenth birthday. Everyone he knew, and a few that he didn’t, would show up in his backyard to hear his decision about the Academy. But Gabriel had little interest in Art or Medicine or any other Academy class. What interested him more than anything was the steep, looming Western Ridge that sat just beyond the boundary of Topia. No one—in more than five hundred years—had crossed the boundary, not from the valley out into the world or from the outside world into the valley.

When Gabriel and his friends discover a hidden cave, everything changes. A forbidden language, a mysterious message, and an ancient prophecy open the door to the world of Adamah—where no Topian has ever set foot.

Enter an adventure of mystery and magic as Gabriel and his friends leave everything behind to seek the truth about his past—finding faith, hope, friendship, and courage along the way.

Fantasy for the Whole Family

I started writing this book in the summer of 2014. Yes, eleven years ago! Life has been a little busy. I am thrilled to finally release this book into the world! I hope you enjoy it!

I love fantasy, and I have two pre-teen girls in my home who are the target audience for this YA fantasy genre. There are literally thousands of YA books on the market. However, after previewing hundreds of these books for my own kids, I have found many of them contain content that doesn’t align with our family values.

This book began as my own adventure–to put my imagination down on paper and see a world come to life. My desire now in publishing this book is to produce content that is engaging, fun, inspiring, imaginative, and can be read by every member of your family! This is a book I would absolutely read out loud with my kids at bedtime or read on my own as an adult! My faith has played a huge part in my writing, and the book includes many Christian themes like responsibility, perseverance, loyalty, courage, faith, and the Creator’s love for people. I believe God is the greatest storyteller, and His Word contains every human emotion and experience—fear, hope, humor, the love of family, the camaraderie of friends, the gift of grace, anticipation, disappointment, life, and death. My desire in writing this book was to attempt to capture (albeit insufficiently in comparison with Scripture) the emotions and experiences of the journey of discovering God’s path for our lives and His ultimate plan for humanity—to rid the world of evil and bring His people together in a new home of perfection and peace (slight spoiler for the end of the series). And to tell that story through the eyes of teenagers who are trying to find their way in the world.
